Psalms 84:10 teaches us that an usher is a doorkeeper in the house of God. At Grace Bible Fellowship of Antioch ushers have many responsibilities none of which are more important than greeting and seating God's people with a Christ-like attitude.

Ushers at Grace Bible Fellowship of Antioch firmly believe that there is no better place to serve God, than in His house, serving His people, in His name.

The GBF Usher Board is a unique family-like, close nit, gender and age diverse ministry that is comprised of dedicated church members that like to have fun while serving the Lord in excellence.

Our Junior Ushers are trained to serve as young leaders in the church and range in ages from 6 to 18. Through the Junior Usher Board, the youth are provided with many opportunities for leadership and service.

Usher Ministry

God was the very first Usher - as he ushered in day and light (Gen 1:3-4). God ushered man into the Garden of Eden (Gen. 2:15). Ushers or forerunners are depicted throughout the Bible. Abraham ushered Faithfulness into the world (Gen. 22). Moses ushered the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt and into the promise land (Ex. 12).

GBF Ushers are the ones who stand at the door of Gods house and cheerfully greet, seat and distribute pamphlets. GBF Ushers are ambassadors for the church and are a key part in the Body of Christ.  A GBF Usher is the first official church representative seen when entering the Sanctuary. The role of an Usher at GBF is a volunteer position and is considered one of great-honor.

Ushers are forerunners, for they prepare the church for the guests by ensuring the church is in proper condition.  GBF Ushers are missionaries for the church for they perpetuate the spirit of a "Servants Heart" throughout the congregation. They serve the people of God in his house while staying in ONE-LINE behind our Pastor.

There are many benefits to being a member of the Junior Usher Ministry:

  • A great way for families to participate and serve together in a fun rewarding ministry

  • A great way to meet and fellowship with other church members

  • Unique group outings

  • College Scholarship award money

  • Meets College entrance community service requirements

  • Usher only one Sunday out of the month for one service

  • Minimal time comment

The Junior Usher Ministry is ideal for teaching our children to have a Christ-like servants heart!

If you are looking to serve in a spiritually gratifying way, in a ministry that requires very little time commitments (one service per month), and you are friendly, humble, cheerful, have a warm smile then the Usher Board Ministry will be blessed to have you as a team member.
