Grace Bible Fellowship was birthed in a local hair salon owned by Reverend Kirkland and Sister Smith. For one year God’s favored rained over the weekly bible studies held at the Heavenly Hair Beauty Salon in Antioch. Remaining faithful to Christ and to the leadership at Fremont Bible Fellowship in January 2003 Reverend Kirkland A. Smith, Sister Smith and 30 charter members marched into what is now known as Grace Bible Fellowship of Antioch CA. Within one year explosive growth in ministry and membership manifested and by January 2004 they celebrated the move of God which now serves over 1000 members each Sunday and countless ministries designed to meet the needs of the community. 



Kirkland A. Smith was born on January 25th 1965 in San Francisco, CA.  He attended San Jose State University, San Jose, Ca (BA-Business Administration/ Management.) He is currently enrolled in World Harvest Evangelistic Seminary, Sacramento, Ca pursuing a MA in Theology.

Pastor Smith’s ministry focus is to preach the gospel in a real manner, to real people, thus ensuring real charge! Pastor Smith’s heart is for the unsaved and unchurched, and those in the body who need a jumpstart in their intimacy with God through Jesus Christ. Pastor Smith is a living witness to the saving and changing grace that the Lord can pour out on your life. He encourages others to taste and see that the Lord is good. (Psalm 34:8)

Pastor Smith has served as a Deacon, Minister, and on the staff as Minister of Missions at Fremont Bible Fellowship, Fremont CA (Horacio Jones). He was the director of the Tri-Cities Community Development Center; and is currently the founder and Pastor of a rapidly growing ministry, Grace Bible Fellowship of Antioch. Through the explosive growth of Grace, we are in the process of building a second worship facility in the Antioch/Brentwood area.

Pastor Smith is married to Qwivander T. Smith. Together they have five children, Erika, Quincy, Kendal, Kameron and Kaleb ages, 17, 13, 11, 9 and 6 years old.



First Lady Qwivander Smith is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. As a child she regularly attended church services with her mother who was a prominent local church musician. Sister Smith accepted Christ at an early age thus allowing her to mature into a wonderful woman of vision. Being called of God she relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where she would later marry Kirkland Augustus Smith. Together they are the proud parents of five beautiful children. Sister Smith is a wonderful wife and mother. She often extends herself beyond her own family and never hesitates to develop and nurture other children who may be less fortunate than her own. Sister Smith faithfully served and received most of her spiritual nourishment at Fremont Bible Fellowship in Fremont, California under the leadership of her spiritual parents, Pastor and First Lady Horacio Jones.

She actively served on the Deaconess Board, Acteen Ministry for youth and was the director of Dolly’s Closet, a food and clothing ministry for people in transition and in need of spiritual growth and guidance as it relates to God’s plan for their life. She and her husband diligently served in this ministry for 12 years before being called by God to plant a ministry in Antioch, California. When others were planting churches out of local store fronts and school auditoriums God’s plan for what would later turn into Grace Bible Fellowship was birthed in a local hair salon owned by Reverend Kirkland and Sister Smith. Sister Qwivander wears many hats. God’s vision for her life and ministry is not just limited to being a wife, a mother, and a first lady, but she is also a very prominent business leader in the community. Her entrepreneurial skills transcend the corporate world and reach into the depth of ministry outside the walls of the church. Her hair salon (Heavenly Hair by Qwivander) is not just a beauty salon but it serves as a place of spiritual healing, restoration and empowerment for women throughout the Bay Area.

God has not only blessed her in the business world but her ministry within the walls of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Antioch, California has elevated into a dynamic ministry that serves women all over the Bay Area. She is currently the director of three wonderful ministries at Grace. My Sister’s Keeper is a ministry designed for fellowship, encouragement, prayer, and the word of God. The first goal of this ministry is to create an opportunity to introduce unsaved sisters to fun Christian fellowship and a chance to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Heart to Heart is a mentoring ministry designed to sensitively and lovingly identify needs and issues that young women between the ages of 12 to 25 face. Last but not least, her latest endeavor is a ministry called the dwelling place. This ministry is designed to encourage, empower, motivate, and address the needs of First Ladies from every area of the globe.
